Sports psychology is one of the sciences concerned with the study of human psychological characteristics in the field of sports performance. Some specialists in this field are interested in improving the performance of the athlete through developing solutions and continuous follow-up in order to reach the highest stages of development and progress in the psychological and sports field
From here came the concerns of those with experience in the field of psychology and specialization in using appropriate methods that contribute to the development of the football game and raising the levels of players. The research problem came that there is a variation in the level of psychological stress for students, especially among students of the first stage of evening study, and a variation also in the skillful performance of a skill Football scoring .
The researchers hypothesized that there is a statistically significant relationship between psychological distress and the accuracy of the performance of the scoring skill among the students of the first stage of the evening study in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences / Al-Mustansiriya University
The researchers used the descriptive approach, and the sample was 16 students. The scale was applied to them with a scoring test. The researchers also recommended paying attention to the psychological and social factor of college students. And the use of psychological preparation to develop and improve the level of students mentally in order to improve the motor skills tracks quickly
